fav vs least fav

the most interesting pieces from this class would be the odessey the inferno and john donnes sonnets, if i had to cut anything from the course it would probably be sir gowain and the green knight. I feel like all the other pieces of literature were necessary to the course to know the background of our modern day literature and arts came from except for the green knight. I was not a fan of that story and did not find it nearly as entertaining or meaningful as the other pieces we read and analyzed. overall I loved the class but these blogs have always been the death of me since I always procrastinate to the very end no matter what 😦

Horatio

Horatio was hamlets only true friend that was loyal to him to the very end, he was not a target by anyone in this whole cluster because he was not related nor intruded on anything that happened inside of the castle.i believe he was given such a large role at the end of the book because he was the only one left alive in that castle and could explain it to fortinbras when he came in. One could also make the assumption that he would lead a transition team to make sure everything would go over smoothly since horatio knew how everything was run inside of the castle. my brain is really hurting right now since its now 1:45 AM and i have been studying all day for the other 4 finals i have to take so I am just randomly typing out words to attempt to make this ungodly long word count requirement that also feels like I am typing another research paper too.

what comes around goes around

Hamlets childhood friends got what they deserved. his parents hired his best friends from childhood to infiltrate his life and spy on him with whatever he was doing. they absolutely had a say in this and they choose to do so for money. i believe karma got them in the end for betraying their friend in his time of need rather than helping him to overcome it. this whole story was incredibly stupid and you just feel pity for hamlet and what he had to go through throughout the story with his incestuous mother, suicidal girlfriend, backstabbing friends and murderous uncle. this mans life is literally a living hell and no one in their right mind would want to be in his position.

was it really meant to be?

Hamlet truly did love Ophelia but the circumstances he was surrounded in did not permit that love to happen, he tried to distance himself from her so that they would not get hurt but that only made him more insane by moving the one person that he could depend on out of his life which caused him to go even more insane and also cause her to go suicidal when he accidentally killed her father. Polonius’s rejection of their love was completely unjustified. He believed she should not see him because hamlet was the prince and she was not royalty. this is hogwash because he should have seen that there was more to it than meets the eyes and let it happen.
